Effective Friday, August 16, 2024, water access at the Vickery Creek/Old Mill Park Waterfall is suspended. This decision was made in response to high visitation levels and to help protect the natural environment of the park and ensure visitors’ safety. We encourage all visitors to continue enjoying the scenic beauty of the park from designated trails and viewing areas. Your cooperation helps preserve this cherished natural resource for future generations.


Why is access to the waterfall closed?
To preserve the park’s natural beauty and ensure the safety of all visitors, water access at the waterfall and creek has been prohibited. These areas have experienced increased environmental impact due to high foot traffic and unsafe behavior. We encourage guests to stay on designated trails and use official viewing platforms to enjoy the falls responsibly.

Can I still explore the trails?
Yes! The park’s trail system remains fully open. You’re welcome to hike, walk, or enjoy nature along the designated paths. Please remain on trails at all times and avoid stepping into restricted or off-limit areas for your safety and to protect the environment.

What are the park hours?
The park is open daily from one hour before sunrise to one hour after sunset. Please plan your visit accordingly and exit the park on time.

Can I bring my dog?
Yes, pets are welcome, but they must be leashed at all times, and owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets. This helps ensure a safe and pleasant environment for all visitors.

Are coolers or alcohol allowed in the park?
No. Coolers and alcoholic beverages are not permitted at Vickery Creek/Old Mill Park. This policy supports public safety and environmental protection efforts.

Can I build a fire or use a grill in the park?
Open fires, grills, and any form of flame are strictly prohibited. This includes fire pits, charcoal grills, and campfires. These restrictions help prevent wildfires and protect natural resources.

What about parking? Are there any improvements planned?
Due to the park’s popularity, parking can be limited, especially on weekends. We recommend arriving early or using rideshare services such as Uber or Lyft to reduce congestion and improve access for all guests.

What happens if I don’t follow the park rules?
Violations may result in fines of up to $250. Your cooperation helps us maintain a clean, safe, and beautiful park for all.
