Join the Citizens' Police Academy

The Roswell Police Department invites residents of Roswell, along with Roswell business owners, to attend the Citizens' Police Academy. This free program is designed to introduce members of the public to various functions of police work.

The Academy will begin on Tuesday, February 18, 2020. It will be held every Tuesday from 6:30 PM until 9:30 PM. Academy classes will be held at the Roswell Police Department, located at 39 Hill Street, Roswell, GA 30075. Graduation will be held on March 31, 2020 at Roswell City Hall.
The Citizens' Police Academy Winter 2020 session is full and we are no longer accepting applications.
Applications for the Fall 2020 session will be available in July 2020.

Our Goal

The Citizens' Police Academy is part of the community policing efforts of the Roswell Police Department. We urge you, the members of our community, to participate and learn about your Police Department, its mission, and the men and women serving you in your community daily.

Each week the class focuses on a specific division of the Police Department, giving students an overview of the Department's duties and responsibilities. Some of the Divisions covered are:
  • 9-1-1 Center
  • Criminal Investigations Division
  • K-9 Operations
  • The Office of Professional Standards
  • Special Operations Unit
  • SWAT
  • Traffic Enforcement Unit
  • Uniform Patrol Division
The program is free to Roswell residents and Roswell business owners 21 years of age or older.
