Semi-Automated Curbside Household Garbage Collection Program
In January 2018, the City introduced a Pilot Program for semi-automated curbside collection of residential garbage. Due to the success of this program, Mayor and Council approved moving forward with citywide implementation. This program features an automatic system that lifts uniform containers and dumps the trash into the back of the truck. The program has demonstrated efficient garbage collection, reduction in employee injuries and retention of qualified staff.

All City of Roswell residents will receive a 96-gallon container for household garbage collection. Your scheduled day of garbage collection will not change.

Deliveries will begin around mid-to late November 2018. The new containers will be delivered curbside to your home. Please watch for your new container and begin using it on the next scheduled day for your household garbage collection.

If you reside in one of the four (4) Pilot Program areas, your garbage collection will remain the same and you will continue to use the cart provided to you in January 2018. If you relocate, please do not take the cart with you. The carts are assigned to individual addresses by specific serial numbers. If you are a new resident and need a cart please contact one of the phone numbers below to make a request. It may take a maximum of 48 hours to receive your cart.

Residents will be responsible for the care, proper use, safekeeping, damage and cleanliness of their containers. If a resident requests to exchange their provided container for a different size, the new container will be required to be in place for a minimum of one year from the date of receipt. The City reserves the right to charge residents for the cost of repair or replacement of containers, if the repair or replacement is required as a result of abuse, misuse, damage or fire. The full City of Roswell Curbside Container Program Policy is available below.

If you have any questions and/or concerns regarding this new program, please contact the Solid Waste Division at 770-641-3961.
