Comments Sought on City of Roswell 2019 Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Local Solicitation

City of Roswell residents are invited to comment on a 2019 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) application in the amount of $10,695. Grant funds may be used for state and local initiatives, technical assistance, training personnel, equipment, supplies, contractual support, information systems for criminal justice, and criminal justice-related research and evaluation activities that will improve or enhance Law Enforcement programs.

If awarded, the City will use $10,374 to purchase four new mobile all-in-one Rapid ID Scanners for quick identification of unknown subjects during patrol functions. The remaining grant balance of $321, or 3 percent of the total award, will be used per DOJ-mandate to assist the City in reaching National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) compliance.
