City of Roswell residents are invited to comment on a 2020 Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Funding (CESF) grant in the amount of $34,459 from the Department of Justice's (DOJ) Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA). The CESF Program provides funding to assist eligible states, local units of government, and tribes in preventing, preparing for, and responding to the coronavirus. Allowable projects and purchases include, but are not limited to, overtime, equipment (including law enforcement and medical personal protective equipment), hiring, supplies (such as gloves, masks, sanitizer), training, travel expenses, and addressing the medical needs of inmates in state, local, and tribal prisons, jails, and detention centers.

If awarded, the Roswell Police Department will use the $34,459 to cover the costs of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other supplies related to preventing and fighting coronavirus. The City plans to use part of the funds for previously incurred expenses and part of the funds for projected expenses. The deadline to submit comments on the proposed activities is Tuesday, May 26, 2020, by 5:00 PM. Details of this grant application are available by selecting the link below.
