The City of Roswell offers its employees a comprehensive benefits package which enables it to recruit and retain high-quality employees across the organization. Many of the benefits offered are designed to improve the quality of life of the City’s employees. Some of these benefits are traditional, but others are examples of the City’s progressive work environment.
Benefits are available for full time employees. Benefits begin the 1st of the month following your date of hire. Contributions to your retirement begin immediately.
Retirement
Defined Contribution (DC) Plan through Transamerica. The City automatically contributes 10% of an employee’s base pay each pay period into a 401a account. If an employee contributes, there is an additional one to one match from the city of up to 5% as well as another 1% if the employee contributes another 2%. In total, the city may contribute a maximum of 16% to an employee’s retirement. There is a vesting schedule of 20% per year for the 401a plan. The employee’s pre-tax contribution goes into a 457b account.
Medical Insurance
The City’s benefit plan is with Cigna. The City covers a large portion of the premiums, and employees can choose between two plan options. There is a High-Deductible Health Plan and a Traditional PPO plan with co-pays. The High-Deductible Health Plan includes a Health Savings Account (HSA), to which the City makes a generous contribution. Employees may also contribute to their HSA with pre-tax dollars.
Flexible Spending Accounts
Healthcare FSA, Limited FSA (Dental and Vision expenses only), and a Dependent Care FSA are available allowing employees to set aside pre-tax dollars.
Wellness Program
The city has a comprehensive wellness program consisting of free classes, a gym, and an On-Site Health Clinic staffed by a Nurse Practitioner just for employees. Participation in the Wellness Program results in a $40 credit each pay period towards an employee’s medical premiums.
Dental Insurance
Two Cigna dental insurance plans are offered to full time employees (in-network plan and an out-of-network plan). Cost sharing between the City and employee. Free for employee only in-network plan.
