The City of Roswell will reopen City Hall (38 Hill Street) and their facility at 1810 Hembree Road on Monday, June 15, 2020. Alterio, Melissa

Melissa Alterio Melissa Alterio joined the Roswell Police Department in November 2015 and is currently the 911 Communications Director. Bringing 28 years of 911 Communications experience with her, Ms. Alterio previously worked for the Gwinnett County, GA and Orange County, NY 911 Centers respectively.

Ms. Alterio has held several assignments during her career to include: Training Coordinator, Law Enforcement Liaison, and Incident Dispatch Team Commander. Ms. Alterio developed the Active Shooter Incidents for Telecommunications Class in concert with the Orange County SWAT Team and later helped developed the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch (IAED) Active Shooter Protocol.

Ms. Alterio holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Integrative Studies with concentrations in Psychology and Law and is also a Bar Certified Paralegal. She currently serves as an adjunct instructor for the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials (APCO) and on the Board of Directors for the Georgia Association of Women in Public Safety.
