City of Roswell to Collect Extra Trash for Holiday Season

Post Date:11/18/2019 4:15 PM
The City of Roswell’s Environmental/Public Works Department is gearing up for the holidays by collecting additional household garbage from Roswell residents beginning Nov. 25.

The City recognizes the need to collect additional household garbage during the holidays and will be collecting up to five (5) bags of household garbage to accommodate this time of the year. This special collection will be honored through Friday, Jan. 10. All household garbage must be bagged and tightly secured with a tie wrap, rubber band, etc. The extra bags should be placed next to the household garbage container on the normal scheduled day of collection.

Roswell residents may also bring extra bags of garbage to the Roswell Transfer Station, 1810 Hembree Road, Monday through Friday between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. There is not a fee; however, proof of Roswell residency is required. The transfer station will be closed Thursday Nov. 28 through Friday, Nov. 29 in observance of Thanksgiving. The transfer station is also closed on Wednesday, Dec. 25 and Wednesday, Jan. 1 in observance of the Christmas and New Year holidays.

Residents are encouraged to pay close attention to the City’s holiday sanitation calendar to ensure trash is collected promptly around the holidays. The document can be viewed at www.roswellgov.com/holidaysanitation.
