Sold Out: Roswell Reads Presents: An Evening with Delia Owens

THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT

Delia Owens, author of the No. 1 New York Times bestseller "Where the Crawdads Sing," will be speaking and signing books in Roswell in September.

Roswell Reads 2019: Special Edition, An Evening with Delia Owens, will be one of just nine stops on the writer’s national fall tour. Presented in partnership with Bookmiser and The Chattahoochee Nature Center, the event will begin at 7 p.m. Sept. 22 at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center, 950 Forrest Street, Roswell.

Owens’s appearance will be a first-ever fall offering for Roswell Reads, a community-wide reading initiative that typically concludes with a literary luncheon each March. This past March, Pulitzer Prize-winning Rick Bragg was the group’s 14th featured author. Six months later – for the first time ever – Roswell Reads will double up on its annual programming with a book that, as of June 14, had been on the New York Times bestseller list for 40 weeks, and at No. 1 since Jan. 20.

The traditional Roswell Reads activities and luncheon are still planned for March 2020 involving a book to be announced soon. But the nonprofit organization couldn't pass on the opportunity to introduce local readers to Owens, co-author of three internationally bestselling nonfiction books about her life as a wildlife scientist in Africa. "Where the Crawdads Sing" is the Georgia native's debut novel. Three additional free events are planned in conjunction with Owens’s appearance.
