The City of Roswell is kicking off National Public Works Week with the annual Touch-a-Truck event on Saturday, May 18 beginning at 9:30 AM until noon in front of City Hall. There will be trucks, motorcycles, and equipment from the Environmental/Public Works, Fire and Police, and Transportation Departments. Face painting will also be available. This event is FREE for all attendees.

National Public Works Week is a celebration of the employees of the Environmental/Public Works and Transportation Departments, and the Building Operations Division recognizing the importance of public works to the community.

This year’s theme is “It Starts Here”, representing the many facets of modern civilization that grow out of the efforts put forth by public works professionals across North America. Infrastructure starts with public works…Growth and innovation starts with public works…Mobility starts with public works…Security starts with public works…Healthy communities start with public works. The bottom line is that Roswell citizen’s quality of life starts with public works.
