Overview
Various boards and commissions assist in the function of the City government.

Appointments, Elections, & Membership

Appointments are made by nomination of the Mayor with approval of City Council
Each board and commission has seven members
Each body elects a chairman by majority vote
Chairmen serve one year or until a successor is elected
Members serve four year terms except:
- HPC members, who serve three year terms
- Recreation Commission members, who serve five year terms
