The Park RX program is increasing active programming and events for those who play, live and learn in the Roswell Community. The Roswell Recreation, Parks, Historic and Cultural Affairs Department is offering health and wellness providers with a new way to inspire patients to improve their health. Park Rx aims to increase positive changes in behavior and attitudes towards health improvement through the prescription of nature to increase physical activity and nutrition education. Zagster Bike Sharing Station
The City of Roswell is excited to announce a new bike-sharing program at Big Creek Park on Old Alabama Road. The Zagster bike-sharing program allows visitors to the park to use cruiser bikes for local trips on the Big Creek Greenway or anywhere locally, as long as the bike is returned to a Zagster station. Bike trips under three hours are free. After three hours, riders will be charged $3/hour for non-members or $2/hour for members ($20 annual membership). Hikes Hosted by Atlanta Outdoor Club
- Leita Thompson Park
6 miles, 2 hour hike every Tuesday at 10:00 AM in Leita Thompson Park. A beautiful hike that includes three trails: the yellow trail (1.12 miles), blue trail (2 miles), and the red trail (2.25 miles). The red and blue trails offer a .25-mile extension around the lake. This is excellent for the more experienced hikers who want to enjoy nature and stay fit. Sign up for free membership on Atlanta Outdoor Club and register for weekly event.
- Azalea Drive Riverwalk
3 miles, 1 hour hike every Thursday night at 8:00 PM. Come join me for a scenic view of the Chattahoochee River and the wetlands. The trail along Roswell's Azalea Drive is flat and asphalt This is a great hike for beginners and people wanting to get back out to the outdoors. Walk With Ease Program
Made possible through an NRPA grant, this FREE program helps participants improve their health while also getting active and social within their community. Learn more!
Free Fitness in the Park
Join us for our free group exercise classes with Fitness in the Park! All classes are weather-permitting and open to the public. Please check the City of Roswell's Facebook page or the Weather Hotline for any cancellations due to weather.
