The Public Information Officer is the primary point of contact between the news media and the Roswell Police Department. The PIO provides regular and up-to-date information on all aspects of the Police Department. The Public Information Officer also handles requests from entertainment media, such as television, film, and written documents.

Quick, late-breaking information is regularly broadcasted through NIXLE, Twitter (@RoswellGAPolice) and Facebook (RoswellGAPolice).

The Community Relations Unit provides a positive link between the Roswell Police Department and the Roswell Community. The Community Relations Unit organizes and presents a wide variety of specialized programs for people of all ages; from school children to senior citizens. The Community Relations Unit's participation and organization for numerous special events, targeted education programs, and involvement in information sharing platforms has created a strong partnership with the local schools, businesses, and other community/civic groups. The Community Relations Unit is also responsible for handling general inquiries.

Crime Free Housing Officer
The Crime Free Housing Program is an innovative, law enforcement based crime prevention solution designed to help keep illegal activity off rental property. The International Crime Free Association is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to those whose mission is related to the goal and purpose of the Crime Free Programs. The Association's programs have spread to nearly 2,000 cities in 44 states. Our goal is to help any persons involved with all types of rental properties, by expanding their knowledge of the Crime Free Programs through training, networking, information sharing, and assistance with on-going and newly formed Crime Free Programs.


 



Citizen Police Academy
The Roswell Police Department invites residents of Roswell, along with Roswell business owners, to attend the Citizens' Police Academy. This free program is designed to introduce members of the public to various functions of police work.


 



College Internship Program
The Roswell Police Department offers an excellent opportunity for college students majoring in Criminal Justice related degrees. The program has the ability to be tailored for each student depending on the exact needs of the degree the student is working towards, but, generally speaking, the intern will have the opportunity to spend time with Uniform Patrol, the Criminal Investigations Division, the 911 Center, the Property/Evidence Unit, Records, Municipal Court, the Detention Center and the DUI Task Force.


 



National Night Out
The Roswell Police Department offers an excellent opportunity for college students majoring in Criminal Justice related degrees. Police Explorer Program
The Roswell Police Explorers is designed for young men and women ages 14 to 20 who are interested in a possible career in law enforcement. The program works to develop character in participants while also building leadership skills and an overall appreciation for the community and citizenship.
