Green Street Parking Lot Refurbishment

Green Street Parking In an effort to help address the need for more public parking in downtown Roswell, the City of Roswell will begin making improvements to the Green Street Parking Lot on Monday, April 30, 2018. The lot will be closed during construction, which will last through Wednesday, May 2, 2018, weather permitting.

The Green Street Parking Lot is currently open to the public, but the condition of the largely-dirt lot is uneven and provides no marked parking spaces to help maximize the number of vehicles that could park in the lot. The scope of work includes:
  • Installation of new gravel to regrade the parking lot.
  • Installation of six-foot recycled rubber curbs to define parking spots.
  • Excavation and filling of several potholes.
  • Excavation and removal of the old asphalt entrance.
  • Pouring of a new six-inch-thick concrete driveway at entrance.
The lot is expected to provide approximately 70 vehicle parking spaces. The exact number of available spaces will be determined during construction, as workers assess the lot and calculate optimal spacing.

"The City of Roswell is excited to transform the Green Street Parking Lot to provide more accessible and usable public parking for our downtown historic district," said Mayor Lori Henry. "This is one of many ways that we hope to address the need for more parking. Mayor and City Council are working closely with staff, local business owners, and residents to come up with creative solutions to this challenge."

The Green Street Parking Lot is located at 1056 Green Street, right behind Roswell Fire Station #1.
