Roswell Breaks Ground on Grove Way/Bush Street Improvements

The City of Roswell will host a groundbreaking ceremony on Friday, February 24, 2017, to celebrate the start of a street improvement project at Grove Way and Bush Street. The ceremony will take place at the corner of Grove Way and Bush Street from 3:30 to 4:00 p.m.

All members of the public are welcome. Parking is available in the Child Development Association’s (CDA) lower lot.

The project removes a vertical curve, slightly widens Grove Way and Bush Street, and includes a sidewalk and a new waterline. The reconstruction improves visibility and enables two-way traffic—thus doubling fire, emergency and public access to the Child Development Association (CDA), Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, the Housing Authority of Roswell, and the new Veranda at Groveway mixed-use, mixed-income development. The project also enables the CDA to make significant improvements to their site and parking areas.

Construction is expected to be completed by the end of August 2017 and will be conducted during daylight hours, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

During construction, Bush Street from Pleasant Avenue to Grove Way and part of Grove Way from Bush Street to the end of the CDA property will be closed to traffic. Drivers may use alternate routes:

• Access the CDA via Grove Way westbound from Forrest Street
• Access Oak Street from Oxbo Road via Pleasant Hill Street or Hwy 9 northbound.

The project will be constructed by JFC Corporation and costs approximately $1.3 million. Funding is provided by the City of Roswell through the Capital Project Fund and the Water Fund and through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) fund.
