Jazz Vespers

Roswell Roots Logo

The Atlanta Jazz Chorus, under the direction of Dr. Dwight Andrews, will present a Special Jazz Vespers that will feature spiritually-inspired jazz works from artists such as Duke Ellington, Jon Hendricks, and Bobby McFerrin. The Atlanta Jazz Chorus (AJC) was originally formed in October 1997 as a collaboration of First Congregational Church, UCC, and the National Black Arts Festival. The AJC is made up of individuals who share a love of jazz and wish to preserve and perform the choral works of the jazz masters. The AJC has performed throughout Atlanta and toured in cities such as New York, Detroit, Cleveland, and Los Angeles. In addition to the AJC, the band will feature Louis Heriveaux on piano, Moffett Morris on bass, Robert Boone on drums, Ralph Miles Jones on sax, and Andrews on reeds.
