What forms of payments are accepted?
The City of Roswell accepts cash, checks, certified checks, money orders, or credit cards (Visa or Mastercard). The City also offers automatic bank draft option to residents having sanitation or water services.

Does the City offer Homestead Exemptions?
The City of Roswell has available two homestead exemptions for homeowners age 65 or older: a $2,000 homestead exemption and a $20,000 homestead exemption for all persons with a combined adjusted gross income less than $40,000.
To qualify you must be 65 as of January 1 of the tax year for which you are applying, and you must own and reside in the home as of January 1 of the tax year for which you are applying.
Both homestead exemption amounts are based on the general millage rate only and do not include the bond millage. Applications for both homesteads must be made at Roswell City Hall, Suite 130.
Once applications are completed it is not necessary to reapply annually unless in future years the combined adjusted gross income exceeds $40,000 or the resident moves from one location in the City of Roswell to another.

How can I pay my tax and utility bills?
You may pay your tax and utility bills in person at City Hall, through the US mail, over the phone by dialing 770-641-3800 and following the prompts, and online at www.roswellgov.com. You may use your Visa, Mastercard or American Express to pay your bill.

What happens if I do not pay my utility bill?
The City of Roswell ordinance states that the City may place a lein on your property for non payment of utility bills.

Is sanitation service included in my property tax bill?
No. Sanitation service is billed bi-monthly as a utility bill.

Does the City provide trash receptacles and/or recycling bins?
The City does not provide trash receptacles or recycling bins. The homeowner is responsible for obtaining their own trash receptacles. Garbage containers should be 32-gallon or 45-gallon metal or plastic containers with a solid bottom and tight fitting lids.
The number of containers allowed depends upon the service you have selected:
Standard (up to three cans per week not to exceed 100 gallons total)
Premium (up to six cans per week not to exceed 200 gallons total)
Community Waste Services is responsible for collecting recycling and will provide new residents with a recycling bin.
7.
Is there an interest penalty for not paying your taxes by the due date
Yes. The penalty is a one-time charge of 10 percent plus a $1.50 late filing fee. Interest is charged (accrued) monthly at the rate of .0058 percent. The City of Roswell will also place a lein on properties for non payment of taxes.
