Dr. Betty Price has lived in Roswell for 28 years and been an active participant in community affairs. She was appointed to the City of Roswell's Design Review Board in 2007 and has also served on the Boards of the Roswell Historical Society, the Chattahoochee Nature Center, Senior Services North Fulton, the Roswell Womens Club, Friends of the Roswell Library, Every Woman Works, and ten years on the Fulton County Board of Health. She is a past president of the Lakemont Homeowner's Association and is a "Tenure" member of the Georgia Ensemble Theatre, Roswell’s resident theatre company. She is active with Friends of Bulloch Hall.
Betty chaired the Urban Improvement Committee in the Roswell Woman's Club, leading the efforts to obtain new landscaping at the Heart of Roswell and RWC participation in the Chattahoochee River Cleanup. Betty currently serves on the American Cancer Society North Fulton Leadership Council and as an advisor to the Drake House. She has given classes for Seniors Enriched Living and annually teaches "Citizenship" at the Boy Scouts' Merit Badge University. She received a Phenomenal Woman of North Fulton Award.
Dr. Betty Price, a physician by training, worked for over 20 years in the medical field, and practiced her specialty Anesthesiology in Roswell and Marietta. She is a past president of the Atlanta branch of the American Medical Women's Association and has received the President's Award from the Medical Association of Atlanta.
Betty received her B.A. from Pomona College and earned her M.D. at McGill University. She has been married for 29 years to U.S. Congressman Tom Price, M.D. They attend Johnson Ferry Baptist Church. They have one son who is at university studying Electrical Engineering.
Councilmember Price was elected to fill an unexpired term in 2009 and was re-elected in 2011. After 2 years as Council Liaison to the Community Development Department, she is now Council Liaison to the City’s Transportation Department. She meets monthly with a roundtable of interested citizens to work on redevelopment and transportation issues.
